There is a finished basement w/ sleeper sofa. It's a great area for the kids. There are two TV's, a 32' downstairs and a 20' upstairs in the loft. Linens are provided. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances (Gas Range / Dishwasher / Refrigerator / Microwave). Also provided is a coffee maker, toaster, & blender. Outside: There is a 36' x 14' deck with a table that seats six, several other chairs and a relaxing 3 person swing. Also provided is a gas grill. There is a great fire pit overlooking the lake. Three Birds Cottage is an all season, lake front cottage on the east side of Skaneateles Lake. Three Birds is a 4 miles drive or boat ride to the village of Skaneateles. It has 50 feet of lake frontage with a level grassy yard leading to a few steps to a permanent dock with 3 steps off the dock into the water. We provide 2 kayaks with life vests, a canoe, and we have a raft. Get ready to enjoy the sunsets from the dock, lake side patio, deck or from the cottage. There is a fire pit with chairs and firewood is provided while supply lasts. Three birds has 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to10 guests (6 adults at most and 4 children). We will try to have everything you need in the kitchen so that your stay here is stress free. There is 1 bathroom with a shower (no tub). The living room has a beamed ceiling and is open to the dining area and kitchen. It takes full advantage of the lovely Skaneateles Lake views. There is a washer and dryer. We will provide bed linens (beds will be made ahead of time for you), bath towels, and some beach towels will be provided. Parking is limited, there is a parking pad for 2 cars, but if weather is dry you may be able to fit 3-4 cars. There is also a grill on the deck overlooking the lake. Should you want to leave the lake, there are wineries, museums and other attractions in the area. Our family summered in the Waterfall Cottage while our children were growing up, and we have wonderful memories. Skaneateles Lake is a reservoir for the City of Syracuse. It is considered the cleanest of the Finger Lakes. There is a Finger Lakes Land Trust preserve directly behind our property (the trail is accessible from route 41). There are multiple parks and preserves (Bear Swamp State Forest, High Vista preserve etc.) surrounding the south end of the lake; the Land Trust is working to preserve this natural setting by connecting these properties into an “emerald necklace” around the south end. The village of Skaneateles, 25 minutes to the north, is a well-known shopping, dining and tourist destination. They hold a music festival and boat show, have polo matches, run tour boat cruises and dinner cruises, and have free town band concerts. The town has many very fine restaurants from classic Victorian nine and twelve course meals at the Krebs to Doug’s Fish Fry, a local favorite. Boat rentals are available at the Skaneateles Marina a few miles south of the village.
